Zero Daze

Day 15:

(Dirty feet in desperate need of a deep clean)

Two weeks of hiking with increasing mileage concluded with a day off entirely. These days are called “zeros” to refer to zero miles walked. In reality, the house we stayed at was a mile from town, so I ended up walking 4 miles.   Still, this felt like a complete day off. I called home And socialize with a large group of hikers in my “bubble”. We all shared a house and so it was like our own personal hostel. This is perfect since we have the same needs. A day off is filled with long list of chores:

Shower – laundry – grocery shop – repack the groceries –  mail packages —check email-check messages-check in to the outer world.

Despite being busy, a zero after 180 miles is very refreshing.
