Cold Defined

Day 153: Bumping River

Cold is putting on wet socks stiffened from frost. Cold is wind that wrestles your hood away from your face to whip your eyes with stinging air. Tears form and turn to ice. Wet fingers freeze in wet gloves first to swelling, then to pain, then to numbness waking to pain again when squeezing your poles.

This is cold.
